아이엘츠 라이팅 테스크 1 (아카데믹)에서 표나 그래프에 나온 데이터들을 어떻게 표현해야할지 어려울 수 있습니다. 여러분 어휘 점수를 높이기 위해서 백분율을 파라프레이징하거나 근사치같은 표현을 사용할 수 있습니다. 

능숙하게 사용하기까지는 연습이 좀 필요하지만 정확하게 사용할 수 있게 되면 밴드 7이상 받는데 도움이 될 것입니다. 수학이나 통계에 대해서 알아야하는 것이 아니기 때문에 너무 걱정하실 필요없습니다.

 두가지 방법, '퍼센트 파라프레이징'과 '근사치나 비율을 사용'하는 법을 배워보겠습니다. 충분히 연습해서 읽는 사람이 헷갈리지 않도록 해야합니다.

Paraphrasing percentages:

• Four fifths – 80%
• Three quarters – 75%
• Seven out of ten – 70%
• Just over half – 53%
• Two fifths – 40%
• Just over a third – 35%
• Just under a third – 30%
• One quarter -25%
• a fifth – 20%
• Less than a fifth – 15%
• One in ten – 10% (this is used for people or objects)
• From two fifths to less than a fifth – From 40% to 15% (for trends graphs)
• Halved (verb) – dropped by half

Example sentences (taken from various task 1 reports):

• The graph shows an insignificant amount of software was downloaded in the last part of 2002.
