 연결어구라고 하면 보통 'and, but, however, while, although, furthermore' 등의 표현들만 떠올리지만 아래와 같은 방법들도 숙지하자.

1) 누구나 배우는 보통의 연결 어구들

and, but, because, while, whereas, by contrast, however, furthermore etc.

2) 대명사나 한정사를 이용하여 앞서 언급된 내용을 연결

- three main modifications were made -> These involved

- there were three bus stops -> These were

- the addition of a bus station ->This bus station

- the car park, which was situated -> this original car park

3) 동의어나 파라프레이징으로 아이디어들을 연결

- some changes were made -> three main modifications -> the changes

- the hospital's transport infrastructure -> the hospital's vehicle access

- at the intersection -> at the junction

- parking facilities -> parking areas -> car park -> area for parking

- public... visitors -> members of the public
