I had was been about a year ago at a small family-owned restaurant in the mountains.
I was on a weekend camping trip with a group of friends home.
We decided to take a break from camping food, and try out a local restaurant.
That was recommended To Us by a park ranger.
The restaurant was located in a small cabin like building and had a rustic and cozy atmosphere.
We were greeted warmly by the owner and her family who were the cooks and servers wage.
They informed us that they specialize in traditional local dishes, made with wild ingredients, they gather in the area.
The meal was a surprise as we were not informed of the menu and , and it turned out to be a seven course seven-course, meal starting with a wild mushroom soup, followed by a salad of wild greens and then a dish of grilled fish caught from the nearby River.
Each course was paired with the local wine wine, and the last call was a desert made of wild berries.
It was an unusual meal because of the use of wild ingredients and the fact that we had no idea what we were going to be served.
Also Also, it was an unexpected, seven course seven-course meal and the pairing with local wines made it even more special.
It was truly an authentic experience experience, and the flavors and textures of the food were like nothing I had ever tasted before.
