I remember a time when I taught my younger cousin how to swim. He was always scared of the water and never wanted to go near it. But I knew that swimming was an important skill and I wanted him to learn it.
I taught him how to swim over the course of a summer.
I started by teaching him the basics, like how to float and took his legs.
We practiced in a shallow pool and I was always there to support him and encourage him. As he got more comfortable in the water,
I taught him how to push the movies arms and do the different strokes.
It was a slow process but he was determined to learn.
