I think photos are great when we need to recall something. But apart from pictures, I believe that videos are more effective because the visual and auditory nature of videos appeals to a much wider audience and allows each person to process information in a way that it's natural to them. People in general are visual learners and I believe videos are much better, especially when we want to remember something.
