I think being honest depends on the situation.
If it is to set matters right and resolve conflicts,
then honesty really is the best policy issue.
However, if your honesty will destroy friendships or cost people their jobs,
well, then maybe you shouldn't be honest.
For example, if you know that someone did something wrong in order to finish something in time,
your honesty can get them fired.
It is not up to you to divulge that information
unless you know why they did what they did.
