it's no longer a piece of cake for children to build relationships with others in a community except with their peers or children their age.
However, I've seen many teenagers expanding their social circles by doing volunteer work. For example, during the recent lockdowns
amidst the pandemic, they volunteered to do errands for their senior neighbors such as simple grocery shopping.
I think it's just one of the various ways that they can create relationships with others within the neighborhood.
