Another benefit is transportation. Traveling from one district to
another can be easy through water transport and this could greatly benefit the locals as it will minimize traffic on roads.
Finally, agriculture can be improved as water from rivers can be diverted to provide irrigation to dry areas
so that more crops can be grown.
For example, irrigation ditches connected to the Indus River have been supporting the farmlands in Pakistan for the past 150 years.
