I think it depends on what you are doing.
If you're doing something that's difficult

I believe you need to prepare for it,

However, if you're already familiar because you've been doing those things repeatedly, I guess preparations are unnecessary.

when I am cooking Korean food like tteokbokki,
I think there's no need to prepare for it because the ingredients are already there
and I'm so used to cooking it as well.
