I'm not big on vacations, to be honest.
I find them boring and a complete waste of time and money.
I guess I got this from my father.
He was a workaholic until the day he died.
So I've never really been anywhere, especially not on vacation.
However, I do visit my brother in Tagaytay city from time to time.
I suppose that can be considered a kind of holidays since I hang out with my nephews and my grand-nephew and do nothing else when I'm there.
So, yes, it is a break from the hubbub of daily life.
It's about an hour and a half away from my place,
if there is no traffic, of course. Unfortunately, there always is
so the travel time doubles, especially during holidays as to Tagaytay is a tourist destination.
The last time I was there was January of 2020, just before the pandemic began.

One of the great pleasures in my life is being part of my grand nephews development. Watching him grow up,
seeing all the neat things he can do, is a joy beyond compare.
So, last January, I spent a lot of time with him.
I think we played Jenga and I lost.
My brother is also into music,
so we jammed and had a karaoke party.
We also visited some of his friends,
most of them living in and around Tagaytay, and then we went to the mall.
Unfortunately, the malls there are tiny compared to the ones in my hometown, so you can pretty much covered the entire place in less than 30 minutes.
We are also big eaters, which is why every time we visit, my brother and sister-in-law prepared delicious meals.
