It can be money or anything material that they need.
It can also be a favor like for career advancement or to promote some hidden political agenda.
Others think this is what they ought to do because it's their moral responsibility to love their enemies.
However, being friendly with someone
you hate doesn't sound moral to me, but rather, deceptive.
