Being a miser,
I wasn't happy when I had to shell out to buy a new laptop out of the blue.
A few months ago,
I noticed there was something wrong with the old device
I had because it was unusually slow in loading from the start-up to the point that it just went black.
At that time,
I was preparing for my final presentation on my post-graduate course.
Thus, panic set in because I was on a tight deadline.
I immediately went to the nearest tech store I could find in my area and started rummaging through various laptop units.
I couldn't care less
what brand it was as long as it's had a dual processor, at least 500 gigabytes, and most importantly a maximum of $700 only as I was using my rent money.
It was around mid-August at that time,
so there were a lot of bargain sales.
Searching for three hours
straight left me
no choice
but to settle for a Dell because the other brands had either poor specs or were too low end for my needs.
Mind you,
I didn't make use of my haggling skills because I had to buy it at its regular price, $1,200 to be exact.
I know it was almost double my original budget, but I had no other choice at that time.
I was pressed for time to finish my presentation.
Luckily, for me,
I had used Google docs to draft both my raw and final outputs. Besides, the other laptops' make and models weren't long enough for my needs.
Yes,
I could have saved a lot
if I had settled only for a low-end model, but in the long run, I would have beaten myself up for being stingy at a time like that.
