I'm going to talk about the time when I had to decline an offer to work abroad.
I had been working for just about six months when the general manager talked to me one afternoon, while the other employees were on break.
He invited me to the terrace of the office where we sat on the benches.
I remember that
his first question was if I had a passport and until when it was valid. I gave him the details , and after that, he told me that they were offering me a job in the company's branch abroad.
I couldn't give him my answer on the spot as I had to discuss it with my wife and consider some other factors.
I asked for a week so I could give it careful thought, and he was kind enough to agree.
I discussed things with my wife, and she was generous enough to help me understand the pros and cons. We
also asked some of our friends who were already in that country
at that time.
They gave us information about the cost of living, work environment and safety issues.

Another thing is that the experience would have been a very good addition to my credentials. Looking back at the decision that my wife and I made, I would say I have no regrets as to where we are now.
The work environment was also good as the citizens of that country are known for being friendly.
