This has happened many times to me,

I clearly remember working on the final pages of the bibliography at midnight when the monitor displayed the blue screen of death. When I tried to turn on the laptop, it just stayed at the boot-up screen, but nothing happened. That morning,
I took it to the service center for repair.
I had to leave it there, and I waited for a few days before the technician called.
He said that the motherboard was ruined, but he was able to retrieve the files from my hard drive,
thank God.
I had to borrow a laptop for my friend to finish my paper, then I had to work part-time to purchase a replacement laptop.
