I was brought up in a family-oriented environment.
So growing up I spent lots of time in family gatherings during national holidays in my country.
And since we lived in a different city from my grandpa, although I used to beam with excitement every time we do so as a kid, I grow to hate it like sin as time passes by my paternal grandparents were born and raised in the town of damn young located in the north of jeollanam-do , which is one of the southernmost provinces on the peninsula since I was a kid, my family had always taken the train to get there which usually takes us around three and a half hours every single year on both Thanksgiving and Lunar New Year all our family members and relatives come together and celebrate it off.
Most women are busy as bees staying in the kitchen to make food for everyone while men usually engage in lengthy conversations and kids play with traditional board games.
Given all the mouth watering mouth-watering and savory dishes on the table and unlimited play time with my cousins.
I was always full of beans on this short trip.
Anyway back in my adolescent years.
I lost passion for it and , and then it became my pet hate during those years up until until now I felt that the Gatherings are just used to blow their own their horns, which for me is just a stuffed shirt and then there's endless bullying in silence that drives me up the wall.
For instance instance, when they knew that I was aiming to go to a university abroad they kept telling me to get a part-time job to help my dad with the finances and , and then I can hear them cheesing off my Elder cousin as if teasing her about why she's still single at thirty five thirty-five months and this list goes on.
I just really wanted to tell them to give it a rest.
