One main reason why some individuals like making others laugh is that they may naturally have a great sense of humor, even when they don't intend to crack jokes.
Someone may find it real funny that they won't be able to stop themselves from bursting out laughing aside from that when someone laughs at their jokes, they feel that their laughter as a validation that they're good at it off or another reason I can think of as probably the fact that it has been their habit to cheer someone up by making them laugh out loud.
