Well, yes, of course that should be the parents response to give their children the idea that good deeds don't go unnoticed for instance.
If a child helps someone on the street with his parents should be proactive in recognizing his good action and give his favorite food as a reward in the long run.
It will encourage kids to help anyone even without any reward at all, It will become their automatic response are no I don't think that's necessary for the reason that it will give children the wrong idea that they should be rewarded every time they offer a helping hand.
I mean a pat on the back and praise would do the same job to encourage children to help others.
